If you’ve been paying attention to Sasha Vujacic’s feet lately, you may have noticed his new footwear. Not just any shoes, they are his own signature sneakers from Chinese athletic brand PEAK.
Sasha joins fellow NBA players Shane Battier, Jason Kidd, Dikembe Mutombo, Ron Artest, Darnell Jackson and Sonny Weems in signing sponsorship deals with the Chinese company.
I asked him to tell us a bit about this new development.
What did you think when you were approached by PEAK?
I am proud and happy that I signed with PEAK. I have my own signature basketball shoe and a casual shoe. I really like their products and together we will do great.
What was your input on the design of the shoe?
Well, I had a few options but I think what we’ve chosen is perfection. The design incorporates both LA and China, so I’m proudly representing both.
You’ve started playing in your signature basketball shoes. How do they feel?
I’ve been playing in them for a few games and they’re great shoes. I’m having fun with it and it’s exciting. It’s a great feeling playing with them and they’re very comfortable.
Do you have plans to visit China?
I have my preparations for the Slovenian National Team, but I will fly to China for five days in August. I will meet everybody and promote the shoe. I’m really looking forward to it.
