It’s been 16 days since the Lakers won the title, and surprisingly the South is still buzzing about the Lakers, but more importantly, Sasha Vujacic. I recently talked with a few people about what they thought about the Lakers season as a whole, and what their thoughts on Sasha were and how they changed from the beginning of the season to the end. I talked with Robert O. and Vincent L., and this is what they had to say:
Robert O.: Growing up in L.A., Robert was always around the Lakers and saw them play almost every day. It wasn’t until he moved to Tennessee that he followed the Lakers and Sasha more closely. He said, “Lexi talked about him all of the time, I couldn’t help but to watch the guy. And I have to say I’m impressed. He is a good team player and has a bright future with the Lakers. I love how energetic he is and how devoted to the Lakers he is. You can’t really say that about many people.” He was also excited about the Lakers winning, and representing his home town. “I was a little bummed last year about the loss, and to come back and win like this is a very good feeling.”
Vincent L.: Vincent has followed the Lakers since the Kobe/Shaq era, and even though he considers himself a huge Shaq fan, he still continues to watch the Lakers. He says his favorite player is Pau Gasol, and sports his jersey proudly, but that doesn’t stop him from liking Sasha. He simply put it, “I like the threes.” He also said, “He may be in a little slump, but he will get his rhythm back. I know he can. I’ll never forget Game 3 of the Finals last year. He can really shoot.” He also watched every game this season and was so proud that the Lakers could come back and show everyone who deserved it. “I got a little worried over the course of the playoffs” he said, “but I knew in the end this title was ours and I loved every second of it.”
There you have it. This is just a small sample of the people who I interviewed who not only love the win by the Lakers, but have grown to love Sasha as well. The general consensus was that Sasha was a great role model, and an example for everyone. Also, he can shoot a mean three. If that doesn’t win anyone over, I don’t know what can.

You couldn’t have been more right Lexi. LA has amazing fans, but the south has fans that are just as dedicated.
