Sasha in Slovenia: Week 2

Sasha in Slovenia: Week 2 Sasha Vujacic’s commitment to the sports shoe brand that he is endorsing and the national team he will be playing for sent him traveling a thousand miles from one country to another last week.

Sasha took a few days off his training in Rogla, Slovenia to participate in the 2009 PEAK NBA Players tour. After Sasha’s five day stint in China, he flew back to Slovenia last Friday to join his teammates on the second week of their preparations. It was yet another change of location for Sasha, though, as the training has now moved from Rogla to Kranjska Gora.

In his interview with Kosarka.si, Sasha discussed his recent trip to China especially Chengdu. He said that it was an exhausting trip, but a truly interesting one.

Some fans, however, were dismayed with Sasha’s decision to travel to China in the middle of the preparations of the Slovenian team. Sasha clarified that the trip has already been agreed upon even before the Slovenian delegation met with him in Los Angeles.

Criticisms aside, Teoman Alibegović and Matjaž Smodiš from the Slovenian national basketball team expressed their faith in Sasha.

Teoman Alibegović, the former best scorer of the Slovenian team, believes that Sasha is the missing piece in Slovenia’s championship puzzle. Recognizing Sasha as a universal player, Teoman is confident that the team is going to succeed with him.

Matjaž Smodiš, the team captain, added that Sasha has a mentality of a winner.

During the team’s press conference at their new training location, Jure Zdovc shared his plan to distribute the minutes evenly among the players during the two games against Macedonia. He was also hoping that injuries are not going to be an issue on Sunday’s game.

Alas! The coach spoke too soon. Unfortunately for the countless fans of Sasha who have been awaiting his return to the basketball court, yesterday’s game which was won by the Slovenian team (77-68) had to be sat out by Sasha due to a left knee injury. They said it’s nothing serious, but the management didn’t want to risk aggravating it.”The problems are the effects of exercise in the inappropriate sports shoes, and while it sounds as a serious problem, it is not” revealed Dr. Macura, Doctor of Slovenian National Team.

And special note from Sasha’s representatives in USA: To All Sasha Fans: Thank you for your concerns! We are happy to report that Sasha is back practicing with the team. Earlier this week he just decided to rest his knee, but is back in action now!

The next game against Macedonia is going to be held today, August 3.

Uh-Oh!!! But come on, the guy can’t be wherever you want him to be, he’s a big boy and makes his own choices. The fans need to let up a little, there was an agreement made, looks like they weren’t filled in on that though. Sasha give us your grocery list while you’re at it, we might get pissed if you’re not buying organic bananas.

What a dissapointment that he didn’t play the first game and won’t be playing the next. Hey do those sexy legs got insurance on em’? Better rest them up. Can someone PLEASE tell me if this is televised in the states? I keep raising my hand and the teacher won’t call on me! Where do I watch him for game 3?(hopefully)

  7. Luka Toni Says:

Sunday, 9. august 2009, 20.00 (GMT +01.00. The game will be on “EUROSPORT 2″.

However, it’s not fans fault that they dissagrre with every dicision Sasha made, but it’s slovenian basketball associattion (KZS) and media fault, because KZS ashamed Sasha on public with lies in history. That’s why Sasha didn’t want to play for SLO national team until today, because people on KZS changes.
So, some fans think that he is selfish superstar, and I hope that he will shut them up with his games.
