Post-game report: Sasha @ Cavaliers (1/21/10)

Post game report: Sasha @ Cavaliers (1/21/10)Sasha Vujacic and the Los Angeles Lakers headed to Cleveland, OH on Thursday to begin their eight-game East Coast road trip. Hoping to even out the series with LeBron James and the Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena, the Lakers unfortunately ended the game with a loss 93-87.

The Lakers were on fire in the beginning of the first quarter, leading the Cavaliers 9-0 and leading throughout the first half. The Cavaliers were missing their starting point guard, Mo Williams and looked lost at the start of the game. However the Cavaliers managed to catch up and the first half closed with the Lakers leading by two points, 46-44.

By the second half of the game, it became an offensive scoring battle between Kobe Bryant and James. In the second Kobe-LeBron matchup of the 2009-2010 season, Bryant scored 31 points for the Lakers and James scored 37 points for the Cavaliers in Thursday’s contest.

The Cavaliers had not led until the third quarter when Anthony Parker made a three-pointer with 4:42 left, making the score 60-59. Although Ron Artest hit a three-pointer to tie the game 87 all with 1:32 left in the fourth quarter, the Cavaliers prevailed with a six-point victory over the Lakers.

Although the game ended in a Laker loss, Bryant made his 25,000th point, and was the youngest player to do so in NBA history. He was also the 15th player to reach 25,000 points.

Sasha came in at towards the end of the first quarter, with 12.9 seconds left in the quarter, replacing Artest.

The next game for Sasha and the Lakers is a trip to New York City to play at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks.

NO words to express how much I LOVE my team and the other Laker fans around do too… No matter what having to the loss in Ohio and on Christmas day can not effect how we move forward… IT’s JUST a GAME! Lakers lost to Orlando both times last year in regular season and look who took the ring at the end. The team is strong and I believe in each one of you. Keep the heart that you do and we have in you… Know that NO Matter what we stand behind out team through it all! All these fans don’t even have a clue what it is to be a TRUE fan and jump from team to team… We love what Kobe has brought but each one of you play a HUGE part. Praise God for his mercy on the road and may the next 7 games be blessed. Much love to you all!
