Pamela Scott asks: Do you have a type of ritual that you do after each game or someplace you go to celebrate after a win?
Sasha responds: When we play on the road, we go straight back to the hotel and pack for the next game. So our ritual would probably be to prepare for the next game.
Kyle James Bueckert asks: What is your favorite NBA memory?
Sasha responds: Winning the championship!!! Great Los Angeles memory!
Kelly asks: Your performances are always incredible. So who has the most influence on you or what motivates you the most?
Sasha responds: Basketball is my passion in life and I love to win. I feel so blessed to have these opportunities. I want to be the best I can be and I am playing for the best team on the planet! I really want to come back next season and win another championship!
Arielle Merlos asks: Will you and the team be appearing anytime soon for fans to meet you guys?
Sasha responds: Maybe. We will see. Everyone went home and some are only in town for a short period. We will if there is an opportunity. Why not? We love our fans!!
Anonymous asks: What is your goal for the off-season?
Sasha responds: My goal for the off-season is to win the European championship with the Slovenian team. Then I’ll come back to L.A. and start getting ready for the new season. I want to come back to training camp and win another championship with the Lakers.
Kay Schwartz asks: When do you leave to play in Europe and when will you be back?
Sasha responds: I will be leaving around July 20th and will return when we win the European championship!!
Anji Bee asks: You’ve made many vows about your hair over the past year regarding not or cutting your hair until you won a ring. Should we fans expect a radical new look now that you have, in fact, won the NBA 2009 Championship?
Sasha responds: Yes I will cut my hair, but how much or how long the cut is goin to be… You will see! But long hair is me now so I’m not changing a lot!
Cara Gavan asks: You mention your predominant goal is to play in the NBA and win the Championship. Once you win, what will your focus and new, dominant goal be?
Sasha responds: Winning back-to-back, winning another one. But first I want to get my first one. I think the city of LA deserves one after awhile.
Adrienne Anderson asks: How did you get the nickname Sasha? Do you have any other nicknames, besides The Machine?
Sasha responds: Aleksandar is my first name, and in my country Sasha is short for Aleksandar. My family or close friends still call me Aleksandar when they want to tease me.
Ryan asks: What areas of your game are you currently working on improving?
Sasha responds: I had those little injuries earlier in the season, but now that I finally have that behind me, I’m just doing what I do best. It’s a hard question to answer because I really go and do everything from defense to offense.
Rafael asks: What did you do to become a good basketball player?
Sasha responds: I worked hard and believed in myself. I never lost my confidence for a second. I always set goals that I wanted to achieve and never gave up.
Ana Melara asks: Besides the Lakers, what are some of your other favorite sports teams?
Sasha responds: I gotta go with soccer teams. From Europe, my hometown team Maribor, of course, and I like AC Milan. I also always go against my dad or my brother – whoever is playing against their favorite teams!
Destiny Cazares asks: Do you ever get nervous before a game?
Sasha responds: No, never. I wouldn’t say I get nervous, I just love to play and it’s my passion.
Tonya Gjurashaj asks: Do you want a big traditional Slovenian wedding that we are accustomed to?
Sasha responds: The only thing that includes a ring right now is the Championship. But a wedding, not there yet.
Tamira Dy asks: I know you’re a Beatles fan. I recently just got into their music and I love it! Who is your favorite Beatle and why?
Sasha responds: My favorite Beatle… it would be unfair to pick just one. They were all special in their own way. John was original and Paul was, also. George was kind of quiet. Ringo was different. All of them were likable – that’s why they were the Beatles.
Sophia Seraj asks: What’s the best thing about being on the Lakers?
Sasha responds: It’s the team that I always wanted to play for. You play with pride and passion knowing that you’re representing the organization and the city of LA. There’s a big history behind it, but I still have to experience winning the Championship.
Anna Melissa Raquid asks: If you were not an athlete, what would your occupation be?
Sasha responds: I always believed in myself and wanted to achieve my goals, so I worked really hard for it ever since I was a kid. There were no second options in life. I always wanted to be where I am now, and winning the Championship will make the goal come true.
Martha Bilbao Cognac asks: I have noticed that you wear a variety of bracelets. Are they gifts from fans or do you acquire them yourself?
Sasha responds: I love bracelets. Right now, I’m wearing two. The beaded one was a gift from my grandmother. It’s supposed to protect you. The yellow one is from the Lakers Youth Foundation. I have had it for four years.
Annie Glen asks: How did you come up with that pre-game ritual of hitting the starters’ chests?
Sasha responds: It just happened last year. I don’t remember who it was, but I saw someone was kind of sleepy and I said, “No, not today!” and I hit their chest to wake them up, to get them ready. So it has become a cool routine now.
Laura Ducasse asks: Do you have any upcoming signing dates? Where will you be next?!
Sasha responds: My next signing session is on April 4 at the AT&T Store on Hawthorne Blvd. in Torrance. My PR tells me it is scheduled for 3 pm, but subject to change. Check the Web site for updates before the event. Hope to see you there.
